“And that’s why I’m here, to blur the lines between what the world tells you, you can and cannot do.”
This is also around the time I met my wife, and she would end up being my creative partner and collaborator for every project I have worked on to date.
After college I moved back to my hometown, I wanted to bring what I learned in college to grow within my community and show that there is success in following your passions. I took a position to work for the Adidas Field Marketing Team. I was working a full-time job with Adidas, and at the same time, my wife and I were taking every opportunity to create content, attend every event, and be involved with the people around us. After 2 years of being with Adidas, it finally felt like I had made an impact in my community. I felt inspired by people wanting my advice on fashion, art, style, and sneakers. I felt like I had planted all the right seeds and left my mark, and I was ready to go beyond a small market and into a beast like Los Angeles. I want to show that it is possible to make a career out of being yourself. Now that I'm here in LA, living in Inglewood, I feel like anything is possible. The community that this city brings is unmatched and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I hope G’s Wrld is a space where people can feel like all of their favorite things can co-exist, and we can use sports, fashion, art, & music to inspire others. And that’s why I’m here, to blur the lines between what the world tells you, you can and cannot do.
IT WAS ALL A DREAM...
I was born in Bethlehem PA and raised in Allentown PA. I grew up with two drastically different parents. My dad is a local DJ and nightclub owner & my mom owns a Christian hair salon. I saw my parents struggle but their drive to succeed as a family really stands out despite their circumstances growing up. It was an interesting dynamic, but I think that being able to see life from two contrasting perspectives helped set me up before I even knew it.
Thanks to my parents my youth had structure through sports and church. My passions growing up & even now have always been sports and arts. My pops made sure he signed me up for every sport in the Valley. The goal was to get into college with a football scholarship and he did everything he could to help put me on that path. My mom really developed my art skills teaching me how to draw, signed me up for choir, and taught me how to compose a photograph. The toughest moment for me, was when my knee injury happened during my senior year of high school. I had to come to the realization that I needed a different plan for my future. What I didn’t realize is that my injury would help me pivot & allow God to show me a new direction for my life.
I’ve always felt like my abilities and creativity have been put in a box. Even though my creativity has always been encouraged by my parents, I still felt like I had to fall in line with what others expected out of me.
In 2012, a few college friends and I created a Fashion Blog, this was when blogging was gaining popularity and I was learning how to use Instagram to post about both the blog and my personal style. I started with posting daily fits and eventually, I branched it off into a magazine. Brands really started paying attention to what I was wearing and what I was doing. I wish I would have known then what I know now, that it’s not easy starting a business but little did I know that my style and what made me unique would be the start of a career for myself.
